Wine tasting at Montalcino
€ 20.00 per person
Starting from

Montalcino is a medieval hilltop town in the Val d'Orcia — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape — and the only place in the world where Brunello di Montalcino DOCG can be produced. Made exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grapes, aged for years in oak barrels before release, Brunello is one of Italy's longest-lived and most respected red wines. Drinking it in the cellar where it was made, after seeing how it was produced, is a completely different experience from ordering it in a restaurant.
The experience lasts 2 hours. It begins with a presentation of the estate's position within the Montalcino territory and the UNESCO Val d'Orcia Natural Park, followed by a visit to the vinification cellar and the barrel room. Then a guided tasting of three wines: a Rosé Sparkling, the Orcia Sangiovese DOC, and the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The session ends with a free walk through the vineyards.
Perfect for wine lovers, food and wine travellers, and anyone who has ever wanted to understand why Brunello is in a category of its own.
