Fresco painting workshop in Arezzo
€ 140.00 per person
Starting from

Fresco is the most demanding of all wall painting techniques: you paint on wet plaster, the pigments bond chemically with the surface as it dries, and nothing can be undone. It demands decision and commitment in equal measure — which is why even Leonardo da Vinci stumbled with it. His fresco of the Battle of Anghiari was never completed, and nothing remains of it but legend.
In this workshop, Paola and Marzia — two expert art restorers — guide you through the entire process over 3 hours: preparing the plaster support, transferring the design using the traditional spolvero technique, applying mineral pigments, managing the drying time. You work on a portable support specifically designed to be taken home. What you leave with is a small original fresco — not a print, not a reproduction, but an authentic artwork made with a 600-year-old technique, by your own hand.
Perfect for art lovers, cultural travellers, families with older children, and anyone who wants a souvenir that genuinely cannot be bought in a shop.
